With Over 1.5 Million Covid-19 Deaths, At What Point Do We Blame China?

Covid Testing In China

I said it. You may have thought about it, but I said it. I don’t blame the Chinese people, but I do the Chinese Government. As of today, 12/2020, there are over 1.5 million Covid-19 deaths. We can banter back and forth about what individual governments did what when. Hindsight is 2020, especially for 2020.

The following is directly from the CDC, “The outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was first reported on December 31, 2019, in Wuhan, China.” “In an attempt to reduce virus transmission, on January 23, 2020, authorities locked down Wuhan, but by that time, ≈5 million persons had already left.”

Why did it take so long to lock down a city with a population of almost 9 million potential spreaders? It took over three weeks to decide that it was time to close the city. Many left before that time due to fear. China is not new to fighting viruses and is a world power and not a 3rd world country. China has some of the world’s best scientists but wants the world to believe they did not realize the deadly potential.

Here is another direct quote from the CDC, “As of January 23, the date of the Wuhan lockdown, the Gansu Provincial Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Lanzhou, China) had identified only 2 cases of COVID-19 in Lanzhou.” Can you say impossible? From what we know of this virus, it spreads very quickly. Was there something in China’s air that slowed the spread of Covid-19 to a crawl? The lack of communication speaks volumes. CYA was China’s model. Maybe if they notified the world, they would not have enough time to buy as many PPE’s as they did.

According to Bloomberg, “In January 2020, the Chinese civic organizations in dozens of countries on five continents began buying masks and other personal protective equipment.” A consorted effort by the Chinese Government to take care of their own while downplaying the catastrophe unleashed on the world. Let’s look at the info. At the end of December beginning of January, China reported its first case. Three weeks later, there were only two reported cases. “By the end of February, a total of 2.5 billion items worth 8.2 billion yuan ($1.2 billion) had been sent to China, including 2 billion masks.” Say it isn’t so, WTF. 1.5 million deaths because you want to PRETEND all is well. Angry is not close to what I feel towards The Chinese Government. When I read the news and all the rhetoric concerning Republicans and Democrats, which party or politician is best at controlling this Pandemic, I never hear about China. Of course, we all need to concentrate on how to fix this. But China needs to be held accountable for what they have created, whether knowingly or not. Mistakes happen, but it’s their attitude that stinks. Did I say 1.5 million deaths to date? Businesses closed, family and friends sick or dead, schools closed, and cruise ships docked. I am angry, and we all should be angry at the Chinese Government for hiding and not helping. My disappointment is no reflection on the Chinese people. They are and have always been under the iron fist of their Government.

Yes, I blame China. Whenever I leave my home with a mask, I blame China. When I cannot go to my local gym, I blame China. When I am forced to work from home, I blame China. When I think it’s normal always to use the drive-thru, I blame China. When I have to have a cotton-swab stuck up my nose, I blame china. When I get nervous about someone, I love testing Positive for Covid-19. Damn straight, I blame China.

Hey Mr. Chinese Government, get your act together. Try not to have another 1 ½ million people die because you refused to communicate that you did something stupid. Put that incredible talent you possess to make a gigantic loudspeaker that repeats 1.5 million times, “We Fucked Up!”
